The wall has been designed for ease of installation
– it’s quick and simple to build.
All components are easily managed by hand. The tools
required for the successful installation of the Facade
and BRAACE™ Retaining Wall Systems are as follows:
String Line
Measuring Tape
Spirit Level
Digging Implement (post hole digger)
Screw Gun (drill)
Installation Procedure - Facade Retaining Wall
System
Step 1 – Mark out the Wall and Excavate Pier
Holes
A minimum working area of 700mm is required behind
the wall.
Set out wall at 1.00 metre centres in desired alignment,
and mark post centres.
Drill or excavate 300mm diameter hole to required
depth (see specification table)
Ensure the foundation hole is cleaned of loose soil
and debris.
Step 2 – Set the Posts in Concrete
Set a string line to the required height (retained
height) of the wall, 75mm from the front face of the
retaining wall. This will become the alignment and
height mark for the front face of the support post.
Place concrete in the foundation hole and fill to
the top.
Push the post into the concrete until the top front
edge is level with the string line.
Use a spirit level to plum vertical.
Leave to set over night.
Step 3 – Install Mesh Retaining Panels
Apply a bituminous coating to the first 150mm of
the post at the base.
Starting at the base, place the mesh panel at the
rear of the post and secure using the u-clip and type
1 screws. Continue until all panels are secured.
Place the waterproof membrane over the mesh, leaving
sufficient at the top to allow for stretching during
backfilling.
Backfill in accordance with the specification.

Panel and Caps
Apply a bituminous coating to the first 150mm of
the post at the base.
Fix the panel connection angles to the post at a height to suit the centre of the panel using the type 1 screws. Panel connection angles are to be used at the ends of the Hebel panels only.
Apply a bituminous coating to the first 150mm of
the base panel.
Starting at the base and ensuring that the panel
is sitting firmly on the foundation, or packer, place
the panel at the front of the post and screw through
the fixing bracket at the rear using the type 2 screws.
(Do not over tighten) or place the panel at the front of the post and screw through the panel into the post/fixing bracket using the type 4 screws - continue until all panels are placed.
Starting at the base, place the mesh panel at the
rear of the post and secure using the u-clip and type
1 screws. Continue until all panels are secured.
Place the waterproof membrane over the mesh, leaving

backfilling.
Place the cap using the thin bed adhesive and fix
using the type 3 screws. (Do not over tighten)
Backfill in accordance with the specification.
Finish as desired.
